AESA
In order to simplify the adoption of Law 18/2014, AESA (Spanish Aviation Safety Agency) has developed several documents included in its Guide-Material for RPAS. These documents, which are named “appendixes”, contain some guidelines to prepare the characterization of the system file, the operations’ manual, the content of the testing flights results file, the topics to be included in the maintenance program of the aircraft, and the Safety Aeronautic Study.
These appendixes were defined by AESA as:
Appendix A1: Previous communication and Declaration of Responsibility for technical and scientific activities.
Appendix A2: Previous communication and Declaration of Responsibility for special flight.
Appendix C: Suitable Normative.
Appendix D: Characterization document of the RPAS
Appendix E: Operational Manual
Appendix F: Safety Aeronautical Study
Appendix G: Acceptable means for safety operation
Appendix H: Maintenance Program for the RPA
Appendix I: Acceptable means for pilots training accreditation
Appendix J: Instructions’ Manual

Material Guide – AESA | Appendix I | AMC training and certification of pilots

by Drones CE Lab

There are two forms to achieve this accreditation. The first one is demonstrating the theoretical knowledge with different manners: with a pilot licensing, a certification of approved test, or with a military license given by the National Army.

AESA material guide Appendix J | Instructions Manual

by Drones CE Lab

Each RPAS manufacturer intending to provide theoretical and practical instructions for the control of a specific drone must develop an Instructions Manual. In the same manner, operators that will train their own pilots must also have this Manual.

Material Guide – AESA | Appendix L | Flight profiles and operational characteristics

by Drones CE Lab

This document describes the procedure to elaborate the flight profiles and the operational characteristics definition.

Material Guide – AESA | Appendix M | Flight duration registration

by Media ATN

The flight book bust register the flight durations, independently of the activity. It must also contains the mandatory instruction processes.

Material Guide – AESA | Appendix N | Remote Pilot Aptitude Maintenance

by Media ATN

This process must be included by the operator in the operations manual, in which the training program carried out by the pilot will be described, thus, his competence will be verified through a minimum of three flights. The information of those flights must be reflected in the...
